We are fortunate indeed to have as our Temple’s priest Panditji Jinit Rajendrakumar Bhatt. Panditji was born in Ahmedabad, Gujarat in 1982 to Rajendrakumar and Kundanben. He became interested from an early age in our scriptures and the values they had to teach us all. However, Panditji was not merely a serious student – he knew how to have fun too! His favorite game was volleyball and he usually won!
After school, Panditji went to Brahmarshi Sanskrit Dham in Nadiad where he studied Shukla Yajurveda, Vyakaranm (Sanskrit Grammar) Nyay Shastram, Bhagavad Gita, Shrimad Bhagavatam, Upanishadas. He received a B.A. as a Shastri and then an M.A. as an Acharya of Sahitya and Vyakaran Sastram. Panditji was a true scholar and became an expert in the Upanishads, the Bhagavad Gita, the Bhagavat among other of our scriptures. His scholarship was recognized when he was ranked first in Vyakaranam in all Gujarat in 2000.
In 2010, Panditji married Falguni and they now have a beautiful young son Pratham, who is an absolute delight to meet.
He is well versed in all our rituals for our different deities and conducts special poojas for occassions such as Shodash Sanskaras, house warming, engagements (gol dhana), weddings, Godh Bharai for new moms to be, namakaran (naming) ceremony etc.
In 2007, Panditji came to the US and joined the Shri Mahalaxmi Temple in Hockessin, Delaware. He served the community there for over 7 years before we were fortunate enough to secure his services. In his spare time Panditji loves to play with his young son and is also a keen swimmer.
Devotees, the Temple invites you all to make full use of our Panditji’s learning and deep understanding of Hinduism.
